Maryland International Raceway (MIR) is proud to
announce that we will be sending a dedicated contingent
of racers to represent the track at the NHRA JDRL
Eastern Conference Finals, held at Bristol Dragway from
July 11–18, 2026.
To ensure our young racers have the best support
possible, Matt Parlett has graciously stepped up as
Captain. MIR aims to send as many teams as possible,
with each team consisting of 10 Junior Dragster
competitors.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for a spot on the roster and compete for the
championship at Bristol, racers must have competed at
Maryland International Raceway for at least one event
during the 2025–2026 season.
Schedule Adjustments & Point Waivers
We recognize that MIR's Jet Wars event is scheduled on
the same weekend as the Eastern Conference Finals. To
accommodate our Junior families who wish to travel and
represent MIR in Bristol, the following changes have
been made to the Jet Wars program for that weekend:
Junior Points: Points will not be in effect for the
Junior Dragster classes at Jet Wars on Saturday, July
18, and during the 1320 Fabrication ET Series event on
Sunday, July 19, 2026. However, the Junior Dragster
class will still run with full purse just no points.
Parental Points Waiver: We want to ensure parents can
support their children without sacrificing their own
standings. Parents currently competing in the MIR Points
program will receive 20 Waiver/Attendance Points per day
(for Saturday, July 18, and Sunday, July 19) while
traveling with the team. To be eligible for
Waiver/Attendance Points, the child must be officially
listed on the MIR roster for the JDRL Eastern Conference
Finals and parents must notify Rebecca Hammonds via
email at Rhammonds@goracemir.com no later than July 15,
2026.
