This past weekend at the WDRA Summit Racing Equipment Eastern Bracket Finals, MIR claimed the Team Championship with 90 points! The points chase was tight for the first two rounds then the MIR racers started separating themselves in the points chase by the end of third round with an 18-point lead. We solidified the Team Championship with 90 points, and the next closest team was Empire with 55 points. As for Individual racers, Royce Miller turned on a few win lights in the Track Operators Race before facing Megan Bunch from Sumerduck in the finals. Royce found the win light once again and started the points tally for MIR. Joey Mattera in Box, Bobby Mattera in No Box and Brandon Jenkins represented in the Race of Champions but came up short. Congratulations team Keystone, Empire and Beaver Springs for their wins in the Race of Champions.

In the main event starting with the Junior Dragsters, we made it to the fourth round with only 11 juniors left and 8 of them were from MIR, forcing team mates to run each other. Junior semi’s consisted of all MIR racers; Brandon Jenkins, Kaiden Groves and Calvin Weaver. Calvin got the bye to the finals and Kaiden took the win over Brandon sending him to the finals to face Calvin. Kaiden and Calvin take the tree, and Kaiden comes out on top. Congratulations Kaiden Groves on your WDRA Eastern Bracket Finals Junior Dragster Championship!

In No Box, Brian Reibert Jr, Jake Milstead, Keven Yates and Bobby Mattera were holding it down later in the rounds turning on win lights. Keven Yates found himself in the buyback rounds after a first-round loss but worked his way back into the main event. Bobby Mattera worked his way to the finals to run Mark Talmadge from Empire where Mark would find a red-light sending Bobby to the winner's circle for back-to-back No Box WDRA Eastern Bracket Finals Championships! Congratulations Bobby!

In Box, Mickey Nelson, Rickey Nelson, Kyle Rollins, Joey Mattera, Bobby Mattera and Buddy McGowan did the heavy lifting collecting point after point for MIR. Mickey Nelson and Buddy McGowan were the last two MIR racers standing in Box as we went into the semis. Mickey came up a little short, but Buddy found his way to the finals. Buddy McGowan and Mike Fornwalt from Beaver Springs took the tree in the finals, Mike took the win over Buddy for the championship.

Congratulations Ayden Robinson on winning Best Appearing Junior Dragster.

Shout out to the best junior parents around for going above and beyond!
