1st, 2024) - The Rick's Jewelers
Ring for the Queen is one of the
most unique and innovative programs
held for ET Racers at MIR. Each time
an ET Series racer is perfect on
either end of the track, .000
reaction time or dead on the dial
with a zero, he/she will earn a
Diamond Point. For the last decade,
Rick Norris and his team at Rick's
Jewelers have not cut back on the
full one-carat ladies diamond
solitaire ring.
This year, the fight for the Ring
came down to the year's final race.
All eyes would be watching Mickey
Nelson (Top ET), Robbie Parlett (Top
ET), Danny Mattera (Top ET), and
Alan Thatcher (Mod ET) as they
entered the final race of the year
tied with three Diamond Points. In
5th round of the final race, Joey
Mattera (Top ET) would earn his
third point of the year. With the 5
way tie now, it would go to the tie
breaker system. Joey Mattera would
hold the first tie breaker with his
one points series win this year.
None of the other drivers with three
Diamond Points had a points series
win in 2024. Congratulations to Joey
Mattera for winning the 2024 Rick's
Jewelers Ring for the Queen! This is
the first time that Joey Mattera has
won the unique program.
