MECHANICSVILLE, MARYLAND (September
27th, 2024) - The 2024 Late Model
Performance Midnight Madness series
was another fantastic season. As the
season heated up and wore on, the
racing action became more intense.
At the end of the Grand Championship
Runoff, three champions would stand
above the rest.
Pro
Street, Super Street, and Hollyrock
Customs Diesel Shootout event
winners from 2024 and the final race
in 2023, would race each other until
one racer is standing from each
class. These three racers would race
each other to determine who the
Grand Champion will be. The final in
Pro Street came down to Chad Burch
and Gary Moorman. Moorman would end
up taking the win over Burch to be
one the three vehicles in the
Runoff. In Super Street, the final
pair would be Keith Simpkins and
Karl Ellwein. Simpkins was able to
best Ellwein to be the second
vehicle. The Hollyrock Customs
Diesel Shootout final came down to
Danny Murray and Derek Bohrer with
Bohrer advancing to the runoff and
be the final vehicle.
The
Late Model Performance Midnight
Madness Grand Champion Run-off would
be set Gary Moorman, Keith Simpkins,
and Derek Bohrer would face each
other for the championship. Bohrer
would get the bye run leaving
Moorman and Simpkins to race each
other to head to the final. Moorman
would take the round win setting
himself up to face Bohrer for the
Championship. Gary Moorman would
take the win in his 1969 Plymouth
Road Runner to be the final driver
left standing at the end of the
runoff and be crowned your 2024 Late
Model Performance Midnight Madness
Grand Champion! Moorman would also
runner up in the Pro Street category
during the event.
The Bracket Bike Racing Matters
Motorcycle Championship race had
three riders at the start of the
night. Laray Proctor and Mike
Sweeney would face each other in the
Run-off final. Mike Sweeney on his
2013 Kawaski ZX14, would take the
win and secure the Championship.
Mike’s father Jeff Sweeney would win
the main event on his 2008 Hayabusa.
The Dental Billing Group No Clock
Street Championship came down to a
two-horse race. Rickey Shifflett and
Norman Pulliam Jr were separated by
only 1 point going into the final
weekend as both chased their first
ever NCS Championship! Shifflet
would be able to qualify into the
Elite 8 Field with Pulliam going
into the All – Star field. Both
drivers would make it to the finals
in their respective classes and both
would end up with Runner-Up finishes
in their field. Shifflet is your
