 MECHANICSVILLE,
MARYLAND (August 5, 2022) –
Footbrake racers for years have
asked for a big buck race for their
style of racing. At the end of 2021,
that call was answered. An
announcement at the end of the 2021
season was made that FRBR Promotions
was moving their signature event,
Door Wars, A Footbrake Experience to
Maryland International Raceway (MIR)
to be held August 11-14, 2022. While
this may be the 6th annual edition
for the all 1/8th mile event, this
will be its first time ran at MIR.
Co-owner Shane Sweigart commented
“When looking for a new home for
this race, we focused on finding a
facility highly regarding for
customer service, with a track team
who can handle racing late into the
night, and in a geographic region
which appealed to competitors from
the Carolinas to the New England
region. MIR checked all the boxes.”
 The
race has grown steadily since its
inception in 2017, and today is
regarded as the best footbrake race
offered in the northeast. The
current purse offers a 10K-20K-10K
format for Friday, Saturday and
Sunday of the event. The event will
kick off on Thursday August 11th
with a Test and Tune from noon –
4:30pm and Gambler’s race to start
after the Test & Tune.

more than just a big money race. It
is truly about giving everyone who
comes in the gate a memorable
experience. Only a few people go
home with big checks, but everyone
can leave feeling appreciated while
having fun racing with their
friends.”
 Gates
will open for parking starting on
Thursday August 11th at 9am with
Testing starting at noon and a
$3,000 to win Gamblers Race to
Follow. Friday gates will open at
8am with a Time Trial for all
entries at 9am and eliminations to
follow. Saturday gates will open at
8am with a Time Trial for all
entries at 9am and Eliminations to
follow after the Time Trial. A Racer
Dinner will be held around 6pm plus
a Reaction Time Challenge after
Eliminations are completed. Sunday
gates will open at 8am with a Time
Trial for New Entries only at 9am
and Eliminations to start around
9:30am.
