MMECHANICSVILLE, MARYLAND (November
17th, 2021) – The 1320 Fabrication
ET Series Championship Weekend,
October 30th – 31st, 2021, brought
one of the highest car counts of the
2021 season and some of the tightest
racing we had seen all year. A year
long battle for the championship
would all come down to one race, on
one day, Championship Sunday. Going
into Sunday’s Finale for Top ET,
Robbie Parlett would hold a 31-point
lead over Wesley Washington, 81 over
Jason Kirby, and 100 points over
Jeff Groat. In Mod ET, Jake Milstead
would hold a commanding 70-point
lead over second place Keven Yates,
71 points over Jason Kirby, and 111
points over Stephen Cross Jr. In
Hubble Motorsports Junior Dragsters,
five cars would still be in the hunt
with Hunter Groat holding a 40- and
41-point lead over Gayge Farrell who
held second (111x) and third place
(127x), 41 points over Peyton Bunch,
and 42 points over Zach Parlett.
In
Top ET, both Kirby and Groat would
be eliminated from the title hunt
after first round of eliminations.
Robbie Parlett and Wesley Washington
would set the stage for a possible
duel to the end between numbers one
and two in the points standings.
Parlett would be eliminated in
second round opening the door for
Washington. However, Washington
would be eliminated during second
round running Chris Wilkinson.
Robbie Parlett is the 2021 Top ET
Champion for the second time in his
career. Parlett previously won the
Top ET Championship back in 2018.
In
Mod ET, Jake Milstead would come
into the day with a commanding
70-point lead over second place.
Milstead would lose in first round
forcing him to re-entry. Milstead
would respond with a round win in
re-entry and eliminate Jason Kirby
from title contention. Keven Yates
would still have an opportunity
going into second round, but
Milstead would win second round and
firmly secure the 2021 Mod ET
Championship and go on to win the
Mod ET race that night. This is
Milstead’s second Mod ET
Championship as he previously won
the Championship back in 2013. He
also is a three-time Late Model
Performance Midnight Madness
Champion winning in 2004, 2009, and
2017.
In
Hubble Motorsports Junior Dragsters,
racers would be chasing Hunter Groat.
Fourth place Peyton Bunch would be
out first round, and Gayge Farrell
would be out with both entries in
second round. Leaving Zach Parlett
as the lone racer to chase down
Hunter Groat. Groat would be able to
win during third round to secure the
championship and eliminate Parlett
from the championship, however he
would hurt the motor in the process.
Groat, Ron Hubble, Farrell, and
others would assist Groat in
changing the motor and he would be
able to continue in eliminations.
However, he would be eliminated in
the later rounds. Groat is the 2021
Hubble Motorsports Junior Dragster
Champion.
The
2021 Ricks Jewelers Ring for the
Queen fight brought six drivers tied
at five diamond points each into the
final race of the 2021 season. Marc
Williams (Top ET), Brian McLaughlin
(Top ET), Buddy McGowan (Top ET),
Bobby Mattera (Mod ET), Alan
Thatcher (Mod ET), and James Getty
(Mod ET) would be making the chase
for one of the most unique prizes
for a track’s local ET Series. All
six drivers would be eliminated
early, and none would receive a
diamond point to break the multiway
tie. The Ricks Jewelers Ring for the
Queen would ultimately come down to
the tie breaker system. The first
tie breaker, most points races won
during the current season, would be
the deciding factor. Bobby Mattera
would be the only race winner after
winning the Pro Challenge/ IHRA
Sportsman Spectacular in the Mod ET
Category in August. Bobby Mattera is
the third Mattera to win the Ring
for the Queen joining brothers Tony
Mattera and John Mattera.
Congratulations to all of our 2021
1320 Fabrication ET Series
Champions! We hope to see all of the
sportsman racers back in 2022 for
another stellar year of racing with
the 1320 Fabrication ET Series!
